Membership Guidelines

  • Use of studio glazes, tools, (some) equipment, and firings are all included in your membership.

  • Members are capped at 50lbs of clay per month. As a community studio, we are unable to accommodate production potters.

  • Independent Study members are held to the same session timelines for keeping their work moving through the space - all work is thrown out roughly 7 weeks from the end of a session.

  • Artists in this program are expected to set an example for newer students by cleaning up properly, utilizing tools and machines appropriately, and being respectful of others in the studio.

  • Our members range from newer artists to advanced makers, wheel throwers to sculptors and everything in between. Thank you for considering our studio and we can’t wait to see what you make here!

  • Members have access to all open studio appointments as well as a small, private set of wheels to book. Bookings can be made 5 days in advance and are on a first come, first serve basis.

  • Members must store, keep track of, and reclaim their own clay. Members do not have access to the pyramid of clay pucks, so at least some of your time will be spent reclaiming at the studio. We have regular demos on how to do this properly.

  • New members will receive a 25lb bag of clay and then can purchase clay after that for $2/lb. We use one clay body (a white stoneware) and no other clay is permitted.

  • Independent Study members have a small locker in which they can store their clay along with any personal tools or supplies in their practice.
