We turned our Pottery As Protest class into a three-part lecture series focused on unpacking ceramic as a material and our relationship to it. These lectures are free but registration is required to grab a spot!

Friday, November 7th 5:30-6:30pm

This particular talk will focus on the environmental impact of glaze and look at different artists and studios practicing sustainable making. The talk will be followed by a discussion on how this can inform our practices. 

Friday, December 5th 5:30-6:30pm

This particular talk will unpack how class is embedded in different types of clay bodies and making processes. The talk will be followed by a discussion on how this can inform our practices. 

Friday, January 9th 5:30-6:30pm

This talk will examine the significance of ceramic permanence through the lens of Palestinian ceramics.
