In level 2A wheel classes, the focus is on refinement - tackling small details that are the most common stumbling blocks for newer throwers. We work on throwing with intention, learn techniques for creating cohesive pieces/multiples, and troubleshoot common mishaps both on the wheel and in the glaze lab.

In level 2A wheel classes, the focus is on refinement - tackling small details that are the most common stumbling blocks for newer throwers. We work on throwing with intention, learn techniques for creating cohesive pieces/multiples, and troubleshoot common mishaps both on the wheel and in the glaze lab.

Example of Refinement 2A rotating 4-week curriculum:

Week 1: Revisiting cylinders with focus on rims and cleaning up edges

Week 2: Simple bowls and shapes that don’t start as a cylinder

Week 3: Revisiting trimming with a focus on planning for glazes, intro to slip as a surface technique.

Week 4: Glazing best practices/troubleshooting

Your class registration includes up to 10 pounds of clay fired, all supplies/glazes/firings, and open studio hours to work outside of class time. All you need to do is show up ready to learn!
